On February 23rd, 2010 it snowed at the TradeMark Media studio. Yes, actual snow. The best part? Kyle tried to ride the ice and failed. And we caught it on camera.

What We’ve Learned in 10 years

Earlier this month, we at TradeMark Media celebrated our 10th year in business. When I started designing Web sites for extra cash in college, I never imagined that we would make it to ten years. Back then, I didn’t look that far ahead. Now that we’re here, I can’t believe it happened so fast.
Luck has had a big part in our success. However, I can’t think that we’ve made it to ten years solely on chance. The first few years in business were run “trial and error”. We made more mistakes than I’d like to admit, but we did take valuable lessons from each one. As we grew and became more experienced, we slowly turned those lessons learned into doctrines that we run our business by today. These have become our keys to success and I don’t mind sharing them with you.

About two months ago, the TradeMark Media team and I decided that it would be a good idea to submit a proposal for the City of Austin’s Web site Redesign RFP (Request for Proposal).

Network Solutions: Site Redesign Success, Stock Photography Fail

Network Solutions, the original domain name registrar, recently launched their brand-new Web site. While clicking around, I noticed a set of icons that still had the istockphoto watermark across them. Did NetSol forget to purchase the rights or are they just being cheap? I would think the former, but everyone’s trying to cut costs these days.

Coming Back to Work After Baby

Monday was my first official day back on the job after having my first baby. I planned to come back to work after six weeks of maternity leave. But, at the six-week mark, I felt like I was just coming up for air, and had barely looked at my email inbox, much less gotten “ramped up” to come back full time.

This morning when I browsed over my iGoogle modules I saw the recent news on the Iranian airliner plane crash. I clicked the article headline and ended up on the LA Times Web site with an interesting result on content sensitive advertisement.
