SXSW Interactive - Day 5

The final day of this year's South by Southwest Interactive conference started off with a panel titled Models for Real Agency Integration. In this panel, Pete Lerma of Click Here led an open discussion about the best ways for agencies to work together.

After a lunch of real Texas BBQ at Iron Works, my team all sat together for the 2:00 keynote where Guy Kawasaki interviewed Chris Anderson about the concept of "free" on the Internet. It was an interesting conversation in which different models for giving away free products online were discussed. During the Q&A session, Guy actually started "selling" questions for a $20 donation and at least two attendees ponied up.

For the 3:30 session, I attended an open discussion called Collaboration or Collusion: Achieving Studio Bliss. This panel was attended by many small agencies looking for answers to get colleagues to work well together. After that I attended my final panel. It was called Who Will Check My Email After I Die? and was about what happens to all the digital trails we leave behind after we've kicked the bucket. Nothing was decided on, but it was an interesting conversation nonetheless.

After the last session let out, it was time to party. We hurried over to La Zona Rosa where the Media Temple closing party was about to get started. The party didn't dissapoint. It came with free BBQ, free drinks (anything we wanted) and a mechanical bull.

So long SXSW Interactive 2009. Thanks for another great year!
