SXSW Interactive - Day 4

Day 4 of the SXSW Interactive conference got off to a rough start. My 10:00 panel was titled The Power of Small. It was supposed to be about making big changes by doing small things. Instead it was about an advertising agency showing off its work. I walked out after about 15 minutes and headed to Ballroom A for a panel titled Presenting Straight to the Brain. The small amount of the talk that I caught seemed interesting and I wish I had seen the entire thing.
At 11:30 I headed over to the Hilton to witness Browser Wars III. This year, lead developers from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Google had an open discussion about the browser's role in the Internet. The discussion was interesting as each developer talked about how his browser fits in. As always, there were disagreements among the panelists and interesting questions from the audience.
In the afternoon, I attended Wireframes for the Wicked, which was chock full of basic information about wireframing. At 5:00 I attended a round-table discussion titled Kick Ass or Suck led by Lance Loveday of Closed Loop Marketing. In this session, we discussed reasons why companies are hesitant to try new marketing models. The consensus seemed to be that it's expensive, risky and hard to measure success. Of course Internet marketing types feel otherwise.
After the last panel let out, I headed over to Brush Square park where I "enjoyed' a few Nuclear Tacos, then over to the Music Gym where my team took the People's Choice award at the AIR Interactive competition. Way to go team! I'm so very proud!
