Polly Thurston

" I love design because it is a combination of art and strategy. I love TradeMark Media because it is the perfect balance of work and fun. "

Education: MS in Communication Design, Pratt Institute; BA in Art, Austin College

Polly is Trademark’s Jr. User Experience Designer. She has a bachelor’s degree in Art from Austin College (not in Austin). After undergrad, she moved to Austin and spent time working for Amy’s Ice Creams and a nonprofit called Imagine Art. Two years later she packed up and moved to Brooklyn to pursue a degree in design. She recently finished her Master’s in Communication Design from Pratt Institute and moved back to Austin in the summer of 2011.

Polly loves to make things beautiful and easy-to-use. As a UX designer, she gets to do a bit of both. She works with Andrea to create intuitive site architecture and with Jeff to perfect a site’s design.

In her free time, Polly likes to read, swim, garden, knit, play around with her Holga and hangout with friends.  She is interested in how design can help support the local economy. She and her husband, Rigel, live in Georgian Acres in North Austin.
